May 19th, 2019 in Notice Board by admin

Many of you will have known Mary Sandercock who sadly died on 25thFebruary aged 91.

She was born at Olney Field Farm, Barby,  Nr. Rugby and then her family moved to Yelvertoft.  When she married Roland, they bought the farm at South Kilworth where she lived until her death.

She was a long time member of the South Kilworth W.I. having held various posts over the years including President.

Mary loved her farm, and particularly her “beasts” who were like her babies, and was still going to feed the them in the early morning into her 90’s.

She was a devoted Mum to William, Sue and Mark and grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was a devout member of the Congregational Church both in South Kilworth until it closed and Welford, where she also was a member of the Guild.

Alongside helping on the farm, she was a keen knitter and provided a lot of items for the Christmas shoebox appeal and other charities, and also supported St. Nicholas Church in many ways.

She was taken ill in the early part of January and died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on 25thFebruary.

Mary was a wonderful, kind and generous lady who lived a long and happy life, and is greatly missed by all who knew her.
